Can’t believe such service still existed, Mac Mini down and out on Monday 24th at 12 mid-day, contacted Appel, through a friend, now 12.30, half hour drive to Telford. Computer diagnosed on arrival, faulty board found, removed and replaced with new board, in stock. Full test and tidy up time now 1.30. Now that’s what I call service. “If you thinks its expensive hiring a professional, wait until you try an amateur!” Rings true with a couple of recent jobs: iMac 27” brought in after somebody offered the client a cheap HD replacement…. my cost to diagnose & fix was over £400 to replace the logic board that was shorted as a result of not working in a static protected environment. MacBook Pro repair. Slow running and system hiccups. Checked applications running and processor overhead to find a number of virus protection apps & utility apps were impacting performance. The newer versions of OS X Mavericks & Yosemite are having even more problems with 3rd party utilities and virus checkers. Providing you keep your OS up to date they should not be necessary. Deleted all these utilities and everything running faster now.

Keith’s service was outstanding; not only did he rescue all my valuable photos and documents from my iMac’s hard drive which had virtually seized up, he also did it whilst I waited and I was able to take away the files in a mounted caddy drive. In addition to this he was able to let me leave his offices with a super secondhand MacBook which was a useful short-term solution as I had no working computer at that moment. Independent service. My hard drive failed (after 6 years) and there was no chance of retrieving the data. Keith installed a new HD, retrieved data from my Time Machine and I was back to normal within 24 hours. In addition he happily sorted out a few niggling problems. Very professional and quick, as ever. iMac 24” replaced failed hard disk, data recovery & set up virus trojan protection. Just a quick line to say thanks for sorting my Apple iMac i7. Everything seems much crisper video wise, images seem sharper with cleaner tones..
